Turtle Canyon is an underwater dive site about a mile off the Waikiki shoreline. It's a cleaner station - Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles go there to have parasites cleaned off of them by the fish out there and it is an excellent place to see those cute Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles* any time of the day, as well as a plethora of other tropical marine life.

Space is limited to the first 25 students who sign up, so book early! Call us at (808) 924-4474 for availability.

So how the heck do I get there?

Easy! The Kewalo Basin Boat Harbor is accessed by a number of bus routes.

From Hawaii Loa campus: Get on Bus #55 (townbound, across the street) and ride it all the way to Kamakee St. (Stop ID: 764) - about 36 minutes - and don't forget, the Hawaii Loa Life Life Shuttle can bring you back to the Hawaii Loa campus from Ward Center (pick up from the trolley stop across the street from Kua 'Aina sandwich shop) at 9:00pm, 11:00pm, and 1:00am. Just remember, space is limited!

From Downtown campus: Busses #55, 56, 57, 57A, 65, 88A from the bus stop at Hotel St./Bishop St. to Kamakee St. - about 14 minutes.

From Waikiki: You'll need to catch the #19 bus to Kamakee Ave.

Parking: There is a parking lot right next to the boat. It is a $1/hr prepay lot that accepts dollar bills and quarters - so about $3 for parking will be needed.

Otherwise, transportation is available from the Downtown campus for just $9! The pick-up point is at Pauahi St. and Fort Street Mall, in front of SOHO Mixed Media Bar.

*Please remember that Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are endangered and it is a crime to touch, feed, or harass any Sea Turtle in Hawaiian waters in any way. Enjoy them from a distance.
